There is no doubt that the Dyson 360 Eye is the most efficient vacuuming robot currently available. It is the result of all that research and testing and it is finally on sale in the U.S.A. It features a full-width brush bar that picks up considerably more dirt than other models and its vision system is much more efficient than other bump-sensing models that map a room by bumping into objects. More than that, it’s important to know that the device recently got a software update. As such, it now features a battery gauge which is a handy cosmetic addition. The robot is more expensive but it makes a great deal and can fulfill the needs of those who are looking for a quality device.

Impressive Cleaning Performance and Navigation Pattern

In addition to its digital V2 motor that spins at up to 78.000 revolutions per minute, the way this unit sees rooms has a big impact on its ability to clean. The device features a 360-degree standard-definition camera that is placed on the top of the robot to interpret its surroundings.

  • It follows a square spiral pattern in 5m squares: robot operates until it is obstructed and then proceeds to fill in the square before moving to another place.
  • It ran through various series of tests: it was tested on a thinner Berber carpet, hardwood floors and even plush mid-pile carpet. On each surface, it was able to pick up 1.25 ounces of sand, 2.5 ounces of rice and 0.2 ounces of pet hair.
  • It has twice the suction power of any other device: this allows it to clean heavy spillages, including coffee granules.

Find Out Where It Has Been with the Dyson Link App

This model is one of Dyson’s first line of connected products, featuring settings and controls that have been offloaded to the Dyson Link app for iOS devices and Android. You can set it using the button on the top, but to schedule cleaning times, you need the app. It’s important to know that the app can control and monitor the vacuum from anywhere, not just in the home. Furthermore, it shows you a map of where the device has been, so you can know how much it has covered the available floor space.

2 Cleaning Modes and a Built-In Filter

The device works for 45 minutes continuously and when it runs out of battery, it returns by itself to the base station. It needs up to 2.5 hours to fully charge. This device uses the Radial Root cyclone technology which separates dirt and dust, in order to make sure what is sucked up is kept in the bin. Also, the filter is located in front of the robot underneath a flimsy-feeling silver of plastic. It is extremely easy to remove, but a bit complicated to get back on.

  • Automatic recharging and single charge modes: the first mode covers the entire house – recharging as many times as required, while the second one cleans only until the battery runs low.
  • Resumes its work: once it is fully charged, the robot automatically continues its cleaning pattern from where it left off.

Small Footprint with Caterpillar tracks

This robot vacuum cleaner has a smaller footprint than most other robot vacuums on the market. However, the fact that it is taller than other models allows for a more powerful motor, giving better suction. It measures around 9 inches in diameter and it is 4.75 inches tall, which makes it approximately 1 inch taller than the iRomba 900 series. The dock of this device is a simple white stand with chrome strips onto which the unit returns to charge. Also, it has two black and white checkered squares that help it see the dock and return to it when it needs a top up. The excess cable can be stored in the power adapter, keeping it from getting sucked up by the robot.

  • 2 sets of bristles: they are located on the bottom and they are made of nylon and carbon fiber.
  • 0.33-liter bin: compared to Roomba 980’s 0.6-liter bin and Neato Botvac Connected’s 0.7-liter bin, this robot has a pretty small bin.
  • Can easily get over small humps: it has caterpillar tracks, instead of wheels, which help it get over small humps, including small lips to doors and thick rugs.

Final Thoughts

If you are interested in buying an efficient vacuum cleaner that provides a lot of benefits , the 360 Eye is exactly what you are looking for. It is equipped with a powerful digital V2 motor and a 360-degree standard definition camera to interpret its surroundings. Thanks to its Radial Root cyclone technology which separates dirt and dust, this robot is much better than its predecessor. The filter and the dust bin of the device are economical and hygienic. Plus, they are easy to remove and clean. All in all, this is an amazing device, very efficient and easy to use.
