Tip #1 – Store the Cutlery Properly
One of the most common mistakes that people make is that they store the knives with other kitchen utensils. Tip #3 – Avoid the Dishwasher
Although there are a lot of knives that the manufacturers promote as being dishwasher safe, it’s still not a good idea to follow this method of cleaning the cutlery, regardless of how trustworthy the brand that produces it is. We aren’t saying that the manufacturers are lying, but rather that it’s best to avoid doing this as blade sharpness decays faster if you use the dishwasher.
It might sound bothersome to wash the cutlery by hand, but the truth is that this is the safest method to go with, by far. When you’re done using it, simply use a cloth or a sponge on which you put a mild dish detergent, and gently scrub the surface of the blade with it under a jet of warm water.
